“It’s the size of a 7-series, the performance of a 5-series, and the price of a 3-series.” I have been hearing this about the 2009 Hyundai Genesis for months now since its been circulated in the major magazines. My issue with this statement is that ITS NOT A BMW! It’s not, it is a Hyundai and for that reason alone I would purchase a 3-series instead.

I cannot deny that Hyundai has came a long way in terms of the design of their product line. When I first saw the Genesis parked at a dealership my initial impression was “Why is there a Maybach parked at a Hyundai dealership.”, because it does not have any identifying marks on the front (a move in the right direction) and it looks like a luxury automobile. I was honestly blown away until I saw that ugly Hyundai logo on the rims and on the rear end, and then was immediately turned off. Initially I couldn’t believe my eyes by the look of this car but the stereotype about the company has been imprinted on my mind.

Their track history is so incredibly lousy that I would never seriously consider it for myself. People who are saying that in a few years Hyundai will be much better quality and will be a major player in the automotive industry. However, I think that they have worked to long and hard to dig themselves a hole that they cannot get out of. The only realistic option I see to save the brand is for them to split off and start fresh with new models entirely. I realize how much money this would cost a car company however, I think that there are enough people who feel the way I do to make it worth it. If you look into the past this move has worked well in other situations, one example being Toyota and Scion. Toyota’s goal was to create cars that would appeal to a different audience, teenagers, and this plan went off like clockwork. The audience Hyundai is now aiming for is the upper middle class who would otherwise look to Jaguar, BMW, Mercedes, or Lexus.

Some Lamborghini owners really do not fully utilize the immense power that their vehicle posses. The reason I bring this up today I was walking down the road in Burlington, Vermont and the gorgeous red Lamborghini Murcielago comes crusing down the street. When I first spotted it was stopped at a red light and I was able almost catch up with it, but then the light turned green and it had a straightaway with no one in front of him. What does he do, he drives well under the speed limit like an eighty year old man (not that have anything against eighty year old men, I just think that if they are not capable of keeping up with the speed limit they should not be allowed to drive). I was able to jog beside this car and I am not exactly a track star by any stretch of the imagination.

Some people really do not know how to appreciate and harness the power that their automobile retains. Not that I would not love driving around town in my supercar relatively slowly and turning some heads, however this was well beyond that. This was a disgrace to the Lamborghini name and makes me wonder why they bought the car in the first place. It is not a particularly safe car or economically friendly. So if you are not going to “push” the car then why spend $300,000+ on it.

The redesigned 2008 Accord has undergone a very nice exterior redesign, and the GPS is exceptional. The exterior of the car gives you the feel that you are looking at a German made luxury sedan. Unfortunately that feeling is short lived because once you get into the car that sense of luxury disappears. The back seat is especially uncomfortable, because it offers minimal cushioning and feels like you are sitting on a rock slab. When you move into the front seat you immediately feel the difference. The seats in the front are obviously more comfortable thant the rear and the dashboard is very well designed and layed out. The GPS system, especially when it comes to the user interface. It includes a large knob that can be twisted, titled, and pushed in to activate different controls.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced car that will save you a lot on gas, then you should seriously consider this vehicle. Unfortuneately while this car is very eco-friendly you also sacrifice the fun driving experience you get out of some other sedans. If you are looking for a relatively low priced car, that gets good gas mileage, and has a great tech package then this very well may be the car for you. You are defintely getting more than what you pay for with this car and on top of that you are buying a Honda. So you know that you will not have to worry about having to do a lot of expensive matenance on this car.

At the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show Lamborghini has unveiled its newest supercar, the Reventon. This Lamborghini comes across as a redesigned Murcielago. They have obviously changed much of the exterior details but it still remains the original Murcielago body. Under the hood it features an engine very similar to that of the Murcielago LP640, a V12 with 650 horsepower, 0-60 MPH in 3.3 seconds, and a top speed of 211 MPH. This Lamborghini is being made in VERY limited quantities, only 20.

<img

More on the new styling of the Reventon though, all of its features are much more angular when compared to the Murcielago. This has its ups and its downs. On the positive side the sides are very well done and compliment the car nicely however the front and rear(especially the rear) were butchered. The original Murcielago front and rear were amazing and when I have had chance to look at them closely I can find nothing that could be changed.

Once all is said and done, the only reason to get a Reventon over your classic Murcielago is soley for the purpose of being able to say "I have one of the twenty Reventon ever made!" and it will be a status symbol more than a car you just love to look at like the Murcielago. I mean really, this is the first Lamborgini that will come close to the exclusivity of the Ferrari Enzo and in that respect its a good move on Lamborghini's part.
